Do you know these problems?

Manual international price research

It's tedious to search every national database separately just to get price information. We need one central point of access to keep suppliers honest.

Head of Sourcing, European pharmaceutical wholesaler

Every market means another portal, another login, another export that doesn't match the last one. The cost isn't only the hours. It's buying decisions made on incomplete data, and arbitrage that was there and got missed.

Shortages spotted too late

We have to spot alternatives quickly when something goes short, ideally equivalents from other European countries, so we can keep supplying.

Head of master data management, pharmaceutical trader

The shortage itself is public information. What's missing is the next step: which equivalent exists, in which country, and whether it can actually be sourced. Without that, a shortage is lost revenue and a customer who calls someone else.

A system that won't let data out

Our legacy system's interface is dated and takes too many clicks. We need an intuitive search and simple data exports for our own analysis.

Managing director, re-import specialist

Too many clicks to reach a single answer, and then no clean way to get that answer into Excel, so it gets retyped. The workaround quietly becomes the job.

Every market you trade in, in one query

One search query fanning out to price sources in multiple countries and returning a single consolidated result list

Reference prices exist, they just live in dozens of different places. The international databases bring price and authorisation data from 50+ countries into a single result, so you can compare before you commit rather than after.

  • Find the German equivalent of a US or EU product, and the other way round
  • Compare prices across markets to ground an import decision in a reference, not a quote
  • Look up EU authorisation numbers and connect them to the matching PZN

Your data, in your tools

Platform data flowing out through CSV export and API into a spreadsheet, a BI tool and an ERP system

Traders told us the same thing repeatedly: the analysis doesn't happen in the database, it happens in Excel or in the ERP. So the export isn't an afterthought here. Advance price information, price history and your own lists all leave the platform cleanly.

  • Export to Excel for your own sorting, analysis and stock-value checks
  • Pull live price and product data into your ERP or WaWi through the API
  • Upload your own PZN lists and monitor price changes on exactly those products

A shortage is a sourcing question, not a dead end

A product flagged as out of stock in Germany with three available international equivalents listed underneath

Germany's shortage reports, updated daily, sitting next to the international data that tells you what to do about them. When a pack goes short, the equivalents are already in the same view.

  • Find international equivalents when the German product isn't available
  • See shortages as they're reported and check what can actually be sourced instead
  • Filter for products with no alternative at all, the clearest market gaps there are

Availability without the second login

A PZN list querying several wholesalers at once through one MSV3 connection and returning stock status per wholesaler

Researching a product and checking whether anyone has it are the same job, split across two systems. The MSV3 connection closes that gap: your existing wholesaler credentials, queried from inside the search.

  • See which wholesaler has an article in stock, directly in your research
  • Import a PZN list and check availability across the whole list at once
  • Use your existing wholesaler credentials, stored encrypted and queried on your behalf

International drug data for pharmaceutical trade, in one search

pharmazie.com is a B2B drug database that brings international price, availability and authorisation data into a single search. Importers, re-importers and specialty distributors use it to compare what a product costs across 50+ countries, find equivalents when a pack goes short, and check wholesaler availability, without opening a separate portal for every question.

Compare prices across markets before you commit

Cross-border trade runs on reference prices, and those prices sit in dozens of national systems. Instead of logging into each one, you run a single query across 25+ pharmaceutical databases, including the ABDA article master data and international price and authorisation data. The German pack, its equivalents in other European markets and the authorisation holder appear side by side, so a sourcing decision rests on a reference rather than a quote. Coverage is deepest in Europe, and some non-European markets are already included. A re-import is not marked by a single flag: you identify it by comparing manufacturer and marketing authorisation holder against the original.

Turn a shortage into a sourcing opportunity

A shortage report on its own only tells you what you cannot buy. The value is the next step: which equivalent exists, in which country, and whether it can actually be sourced. Germany's shortage data, updated daily, sits next to the international equivalents that answer it, and you can filter for products where no alternative exists at all.

Check availability without a second login

Researching a product and checking whether anyone has it are the same job, usually split across two systems. The MSV3 availability query closes that gap and runs on your existing wholesaler credentials, stored encrypted and used only to ask on your behalf, so you never trade under anyone else's account. Ordering over MSV3 is a separate step still in its pilot phase, so today the connection confirms availability rather than placing the order.

Get your data out, and leave the workaround behind

The reasons traders switch repeat: an interface with too many clicks, data that will not export, and coverage that stops at the German border, which is exactly where this business begins. The analysis rarely happens in the database anyway, it happens in Excel and in your ERP: prices, price history and your own PZN lists export to a spreadsheet, or move through the API into your system. The export from the interface has a volume limit that most day-to-day work stays under, and for larger volumes there are individual data services that do not. Switching costs are real and nobody pretends otherwise.

See it on your own products

I work with the German Drug Pricing module every day. Dapou Pharma is a pharmaceutical wholesaler and parallel distributor and needs access to reliable and up-to-date drug prices. The best thing about pharmazie.com is that you always know which product is marketed in which country. The contact details of drug manufacturers and marketing authorization holders are also very helpful.

I currently use pharmazie.com several times a week to access the ABDA database/German SMPC drug lexicon, the archive of discontinued drugs, and international SMPC drugs. This allows me to stay up to date. I am very satisfied with the platform provided by pharmazie.com, thanks to the team!
We use the ABDA database of German finished medicinal products and international medicinal products to offer our customers, in particular pharmacies and hospitals, international procurement options for medicinal products that are not available locally (in Germany, for example, individual imports in accordance with Section 73.3 of the German Medicinal Products Act (AMG)). Thank you very much for your fast and excellent service!
The use of the ABDA database CAVE and the ABDA database Interactions is very valuable for teaching at the Pharmacological Institute because there is no other complete directory of all drugs approved in Germany. There is also no other program as good and reliable as the Cave and Interaction modules for testing for interactions, which we regularly use as part of the course tasks.
We are a supplier of medical practice supplies and use the platform for the pricing strategy of health insurance companies. We are very satisfied with pharmazie.com, because they are fast, easy to find and all products can be found through the free text search.

Questions we often hear in demos

How current is your shortage data, and how quickly do I see alternatives?
Do we see purchase prices such as AEK or the manufacturer's price, or only the pharmacy retail price?
Can we get price data for countries outside the EU, the US or Asian markets?
Is there a limit on how many PZNs we can upload in a list or export at once?
Do we need new credentials for the MSV3 query, or can we use our existing wholesaler logins?
Can the database automatically tell us whether a listed product is a re-import?
